A new page in Hibla’s career

A new page in Hibla’s career opens with the role of Vitellia that comes into her repertoire. La Clemenza di Tito by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, an opera specially commissioned for the coronation of the Austrian Emperor Leopold II, received its premiere on September 6th, 1791 in Prague. Paris premiere at the Palais Garnier featuring Hibla will be held only 220 years and 4 days later, but promises to be a significant event in the opera world — tickets for all nine performances are already sold out. Another interesting numerological thing: rehearsing a production with a completely new roster of singers (premiere of this production by Willy Decker was held in 1997), each of whom sings their own part for the first time, takes 18 days, which coincides with the creation of the opera itself by the composer: Mozart wrote his opera in just 18 days. In addition, rehearsal sessions commenced on August 18th, at the studio of Opéra Bastille, where rehearsals will continue until early September.
