In just a few days the city of Pitsunda, Republic of Abkhazia, will be hosting participants of the 10th Music Festival “Hibla Gerzmava invites…” — pianist Denis Matsuev, opera soloists Eugene Polikanin, Sergei Balashov and the Orchestra of the Moscow Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theatre under Felix Korobov. This musical feast is a gift from the bottom of Hibla’s heart to all Abkhazian people. And these are not just words. Hibla does not come to Sukhum and Pitsunda as an opera diva of global scale, instead she comes as a grateful daughter, paying a tribute to her native land, in a way only she could do, as no one else could do. Hibla is personally involved in the preparation of the Festival from its beginning to the end, personally overseeing each and every detail. Her ideas were realised thanks to the continued support of her friends and collaborators: Andrei Dudko and “New Generation” Charity Foundation, Enver Kuzmin and “Restavratsia N” Ltd., the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Ministry of Culture of Russia. As the Festival is held under the patronage of the Government of the Republic of Abkhazia, means it has a state-wide status and its paramount importance in terms of cultural events throughout the country.
