Unexpectedly early debut at the Wiener Staatsoper: despite the originally planned Hibla Gerzmava’s debut on the stage of this great opera house in October 2012, Hibla will sing at the Wiener Staatsoper next week! Such a sudden news resulted from a withdrawal of Diana Damrau, who was originally scheduled to perform the part of Lucia di Lammermoor in Donizetti’s opera on Wednesday June 20 and Sunday June 24. Hibla will be partnered by a tenor Piotr Beczala with whom she previously worked at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.
