On Thursday, February 7, the stage of the Moscow Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre will host a solo recital by Hibla Gerzmava that will feature a totally new program. Hibla’s recital will be the third one in a series of events of the Queens of Opera International Festival organised by Eugene Wintour that presents best female voices in the world. Hibla will present a program of arias from operas by Mozart, Donizetti, Bellini and Verdi. She will be accompanied by the orchestra of the Moscow Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre conducted by Marco Armiliato, one of the most popular opera conductors of the current generation. He made his debut conducting La bohème at the San Francisco Opera, took part in musical projects with Luciano Pavarotti, and for many years conducted at the best opera houses and most prestigious concert venues around the world. In May 2012, Maestro Armiliato received the Grammy Award for the Verismo Arias recording that features Renée Fleming, Jonas Kaufmann, the Orchestra and Chorus Sinfonica Di Milano Giuseppe Verdi. This is his first visit to Russia.
