A special evening dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Boris Yeltsin
1 February at the Bolshoi Theatre saw a special evening dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the First Russian President Boris Yeltsin. The gala was performed by the orchestra and soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre, and also Yuri Bashmet and Viktor Tretyakov. They played works by Mozart, Verdi, Donizetti, Puccini, Bizet and Glinka. Hibla Gerzmava had sung Tatiana’s aria (“Letter Scene”) from Tchaikovsky’s opera “Eugene Onegin”. Members of the Russian government, famous figures of culture and sports, and business elite of Russia were among the honorary guests of this evening.
