The XII Moscow Music Festival “Vladimir Spivakov Invites” ends on a high note: People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, prima donna of the Russian opera stage Khibla Gerzmava will perform with the maestro and his orchestra. “Heavenly purity and beauty of the voice, every note in all its glory, extremely clear diction, endless breathing and – soul, soul, soul!,” the press writes about her.
Having established herself as one of the best bel canto performers, in recent years Khibla Gerzmava has expanded her repertoire with complex roles for dramatic soprano, including in Verdi’s operas. She will once again captivate music lovers with her unique voice, phenomenal artistic temperament and the highest musical culture, embodying on stage the images of Verdi’s diverse heroines. Among them is the tender, slandered Desdemona, who calls out in prayer to the Virgin Mary (“Othello”); Donna Elvira, suffering in separation from her beloved and awaiting her wedding with her hated uncle (“Ernani”); inconsolable Amalia, mourning her father and brother (“The Robbers”); the strong-willed hermit Leonora, hiding from revenge in a cave and not finding peace (“The Power of Fate”); her namesake is the maid of honor from the opera “Il Trovatore”, burning with love for the mysterious warrior.
The creative collaboration between Vladimir Spivakov and the famous singer began many years ago: they carried out many bright joint projects in Russia and abroad, meeting on stage and in the recording studio. “I am proud of my friendship with Vladimir Spivakov,” admits Khibla Gerzmava. – Every meeting with him is happiness. I’m grateful to fate that I can perform with him and sing for him.”
